I come to you today with a heavy heart to share some devastating news. Two weeks ago, I underwent a high-risk surgery at KEM hospital to try and resolve some ongoing health issues. But what should have been a two-hour procedure turned into a six-hour nightmare as the doctors discovered my wound was oozing blood and pus. I was fighting for my life on that operation table, and it breaks my heart to tell you that the doctors couldn't put my intestine back for the next two months. Instead, I now have to use a stoma bag, and my life has become a constant struggle.
The pain is unbearable, and the medical expenses are piling up with each passing day. We have already spent over 13 lakhs just on my treatment. We are left with only 1 lakh, and I still need to undergo heart treatment and put my intestine back in place within the next 3 months. My wife and I are already struggling with a medical loan of over 12 lakhs, as we took it for my mother's brain haemorrhage treatment. I am worried about my wife's future, and I cannot afford to lose my life too.
I am reaching out to you with a desperate plea for help. I understand that everyone has their own challenges, but I cannot face this battle alone. Each day, a single stoma bag costs us 5000 Rs, and I will need these bags for the next three months. The past 25 days have already cost us almost a lakh, and medication and food will cost another 2 lakhs. Two surgeries will be another 1 lakh, and post-operative care at a government hospital will be an additional expense. I will also need medication, regular visits to KEM, and scans, which will add another 2 lakhs to the total cost of treatment. Altogether, I will need 8 Lakhs to survive
I am praying to the Lord this lent to save me and make me operable so that I can get back to my wife and family. But I also believe that the proverb "The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor" holds true. About this time last year I started suffering losses in business and couldn’t save my mother after spending 8 lakhs mortgaging every part of our savings. Seemed life was getting a bit calmer and all of a sudden one night I started vomiting and my stomach bloated. I was taken to the hospital
Doctors informed us there is gangrene formed in my stomach because my internal organs stopped receiving blood owing to low blood pressure. The reason behind this would be since childhood I used to only eat once a day and consumed less water with difficult times ahead I ignored my health and went into depression after losing my mother, my business and the huge loan which I didn’t pay till date as I am battling life every day.
My small intestine is removed and on liquid food for 6 months. , I have lost so much weight that I don't recognise myself. I have an artificial bag put which has to be changed every 5 days until my intestine is back. We raised 3 lakhs last time when my wife approached you, for those who are not aware the government hospitals' charges are reduced however the pieces of equipment used in the operation theatre, medicines, food, and ambulance cost us more than 3 lakhs. We have attached the bills on social media as well our donors will receive an email with copies of each and every bill with a pdf copy attached.
This still doesn’t include the small intestine bag which is been taken outside without a bill as it's 1000 Rs cheaper. The bag cost us 2000 Rs per 5 days which totalled around 1 Lakh for a total of 4 months. Over what we collected we exhausted Sheryl's family savings as well, and my father-in-law started riding a rickshaw to aid my medical aid. Sheryl doesn’t leave my sight for 4 months and I feel bad about it.
On February 9, I had a stroke and collapsed at the hospital. The doctors told me that my malnutrition caused the stroke and that they needed to put my intestine back because I wouldn't survive without it. KEM hospital has been managing my case, as no private hospitals would take it. I had to pay 1 Lakh at Gurukrupa hospital for stabilizing me for 7 days, and the care and cure hospital at shanti park cost 1.5 Lakhs for antibiotics and liquid. I couldn't move to a government facility until I was conscious and stable. The doctors told us that we couldn’t take me home because I will collapse every three days and need antibiotics at the hospital to stabilize me. The only way out is to put my intestine back, which is risky on the operating table.
I need 7 Lakhs to put my intestine back and treat my heart blockage, which includes the operation, diet, liquids and medicines for my intestine. I need the money only for my treatment, as the estimation letter and bills have shown that we have been spending a lot more than we got due to my health.
Next 20 Days, I need to get my blood pressure to normal as it's 80/40, and I have a heart blockage. Please pray that I get my health stable, I felt bad when I lost my memory for two days but before anything worst. This is my last message to you all, I pray to the Lord in this lent, Save me and make me operable and get me Safely back to my wife and family after this operation.
